At number thirty, its simply a case of looking at the scouting sheets, and taking the best available. NHL draft is nothing like the NFL draft, where players are immediate impact players. Sure there will be a few, but usually the NHL draft is about taking the best that is left, and waiting a few years to see if they pan out.

He can skate and move the puck.

Alone, the fact he can skate puts him ahead of Hal Gill.
