Props to the Flyers for coming out and playing hard in game 4. They took advantage of a good 8 minute streak in the first period and buried their chances. The Pens on the other hand, took some silly penalties in that period and spotted the Flyers to a 3-0 lead.

But they did fight back, and pretty much dictated the play in the third period. Fleury can't be blamed for any of the goals, and played solid after the first.

Pens just need to stay out of the box on Sunday, take away the PP's and the Flyers had about 16 or so shots on net 5-5. Don't take the stupid penalties, and don't retaliate.

This was very frustrating too watch. Anyone else notcie how pro-Philly the vs. network is? Philly came out hot and had the better play for 40 mins. but if not for some very questionable calls early on in the game they could of still loss the game. Dont know if it is just inconsistency in the officiating or what this game butit seemed like Philly could do no wrong. Stevens constant complaining must of finally got the ear of the officials tonight. Also a lot of talk coming in about Crosby diving seems to me Philly players have been falling like they have been shot this series. They had there usually goon acts at the end which is going to make it that much sweeter too watch the Pens send them back on 76 West losers come Sunday.

Edit: Talk radio is just bashing the officiating tonight.

I was fed up with the broadcast also. Would have loved to see the replay on the letang penalty, but nothing. And why didn't they make any comments on the Briere swan dive in the first. That was embarassing.

I wouldn't say the pens were outplayed for the first 40 minutes. The flyers played well for that last 10 in the first, basically when they had all the advantages, and made it count. But the pens started to get better in the second and was great in the third.

so i only just got to see the whole match now.... sheesh work went by slowly today, with my not being able to come in here for fear of spoilers.

anyways, not to detract from the PHI effort, (they played with the desperation of a team fighting the 'do or die' mentality,) but were the officials wearing orange under their stripes?

the 2 PP goals were earnt following totally bogus calls; the non-existant gonchar hold (which even the TV commentator was reduced to just saying 'wow') and then Orpik getting a roughting even tho he'd just received several cross checks....

there were other calls / non-calls, but those two in particular had significance to the end result.

despite this, i was actually glad to see briere get something going from the wing, especially as it really gave Flower a chance to stand on his head and he really did!

tis a shame for the loss, but i doubt DET are stressing out over their loss of a game; Sunday sees a return to the Mellon and Biron can't enjoy the reassurance of having a shut out.

let's see how it all pans out in an arena of white rather than tangerine....

LET'S GO PENS!!!!!
