Give alot of credit to the defense AND the forecheck of the Pens. They have not allowed the Flyers much offensive zone time. Heck, they have given them fits just getting into the Pens zone so far.
Problem for Stevens is where to match up Briere's line. You would normally love to match your top line with the other teams third, but Staal's line is playing so well defensively, it is working to our advantage. Did you see the faceoff between Brierre and Staal last night, they were fighting for the puck, and then Staal simply knocked Briere over. Briere was doing his best to hold onto Staal's stick so he didn't get into the play.
And to have his line against any of our top two lines? Briere's biggest contribution has been on the Philly power play, but this series, the way that it has been called, has not given that many. And the Pens are playing an aggressive Penalty Kill that is frustrating the Flyers. They had three PP's last night(really only two due to the overlaps) and had a total of 0(that is a zero) shots on goal.
