(Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins will shoot for their third straight victory when they welcome the Boston Bruins to Mellon Arena this evening.
Pittsburgh will, however, have to go without Sidney Crosby, as the star center is nursing a sore groin and expected to miss the game. He sustained the injury on Monday in Philadelphia.
Crosby leads the team with 10 goals, 20 assists and 30 points.
The Penguins have earned back-to-back wins over division rivals, beating the New York Rangers on Saturday and downing the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
Pittsburgh earned a 5-3 win in Philadelphia behind a goal and two assists from Ryan Whitney.
Sidney Crosby, Dominic Moore and Sergei Gonchar each added a goal and an assist for the Penguins, who have now won three of their last four games. Former Flyer Mark Recchi also added an assist to extend his point streak to five games.
Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury made 22 saves in Monday's win at the Wachovia Center.
Meanwhile, the Bruins will try to get back on track tonight after having a four-game win streak snapped by visiting Florida on Monday. Joe Nieuwendyk scored what proved to be the game-winning goal midway through the third period and the Panthers held on for a 3-2 win.
