Default CuJo

Anyone else feel that Curtis Joseph is doing very poorly this year?

He just seems really uncomfortable and unaware of what's going on around him. You can tell that he's getting on in his years and that his performance is getting progressively worse. (he seems tired alot) He doesn't react quickly at all. He's not a butterfly goalie, so that makes it even worse.

I don't know if Wayne knows a whole lot about what he's doing. He got some good veterans, but I think CuJo was one that was a little too far. He needs to look for players that are right in their prime, or about to go into their prime. Specifically with goaltending, with Fuhr being the goaltending coach he shouldn't have any problem training goalies.

Anyway, just wanted to discuss this.

I don't really know what for, but Cujo is made the 3rd Star of the Day last night.

Curtis Joseph and Tommy Salo: two star goalies who boarded a plane to Salt Lake City and never really returned.

I really feel bad for Curtis... I've always thought that if he were given the right opportunity he could return to form for a season or two before he retired.

I think CuJo's been playing a lot better since Tellqvst's arrival, which is a very good thing for the Coyotes. Too bad for the leafs - I think they made a mistake getting rid of him.

CUJO was the best possible solution to the coyotes goaltending problem at the time without mortgaging the future or breaking the bank.

He's given them adequate tending for the most part. Better than having an unexperienced rookie who would get his confidence shattered. The Coyotes don't have any blue chip stoppers in their system.

Think any playoff bound team could use a veteran like CUJO as insurance or even to push or their own current #1 stopper?????? Perhaps Atlanta, Boston, NYR, Penguins or Senators.

I believe CUJO still has value to a contending team.

I'm happy Telly is doing something else where because he was doing nothing here. I mean he had a chance to secure #1 Goalie last season but lost it to Aubin, and ever since then Aubin has out preformed him (in toronto). Now I haven't seen Phenoix or what Telly is doing there, but if he is doing a good job, good on him.

Really depends on the night with Cujo this season. In some games, he's looked as good as ever, blocking everything in sight. In others, he's been just eyes-covering awful.

His nconsistency has been driving me crazy this season...and I'm sure Gretzky as well. That's probably why Telly has been playing so much. It's pretty much his starting job to win now.

Can you explain the whole 'Joe Sieve' thing? I never got the whole story of why that was used as a headline about Cujo.
