...once again is well spread out and has them amongst the league leaders is offense. 5 skaters now have 20+ goals and Lupul is on pace to be the 6th. This is without Danny Briere.
I doubt it will happen, but I've heard a little about the possibility or suggestion that the Flyers should try to move Briere. What do you think?
I doubt they'll make a move for a goaltender, but I'm not entirely confident that Biron or Niittymaki are going to lead them to the Cup. Another top d-man would be great.
Flyers should do this as stated by Chuck Gormley in the Camden Courier Post today:
Quote:
Any Flyers package would need to involve salary equal to or more than Bouwmeester's $4.875 million.
That could mean right wing Joffrey Lupul, whose $2.3 million cap hit jumps to $4.25 million next season, along with defenseman Matt Carle, who has a $2.9 million cap hit this season, escalating to $3.5 million in each of the next two years and $3.8 million in 2011-12, or defenseman Braydon Coburn, who has one year left on a contract that carries a $1.3 million cap hit.
Holmgren should have kept Vaaninen. He was doing a great job. And you need a good combination of goalies to get to the cup. You can't rely on just one goalie nowadays. Flyers have a great combination of goalies. Both have played great this year. It's going to be at least until November until Briere gets up to speed if he does get up to speed, IMO. This year is basically shot now.

Considering he wasn't playing, how was he doing a great job? He was scratched. It was Timonen, Parent, Coburn, Carle, Alberts and Jones. Everyone was playing better than him hence being scratched.

Are you a doctor?

Vaaninen was playing from the time he got here until maybe 4-5 weeks ago and was probably scratched to make room for Giroux or Parent. The could pass and skate well and was one of the biggest guys on the team. He and Alberts made a very good line. I think Vanninen is probably more valuable than Kukkonen although I think Kukkonen always did a great job as a defenseman. You want to get rid of someone get rid of Cote who can't pass, can't set up plays or add points to the team.
If you've read the website Briere is sitting out the Predators game tonight and is still day-to-day. So when do you expect him to be 100%? 4 weeks? 6 weeks? If he comes out skating and shooting well on opening day next season I'll be surprised. I'm not a Dr. but I know you're a f-ing retard.
