Last night, the guy had 3 points to move into 4th in NHL scoring. He started showing alot of signs last year, but I find Marian Hossa is really starting to assert himself physically. He is virtually impossible to push off the puck, has blazing speed, and at 6'1, about 215 pounds, can more then hold his own. He can go to the net and take the abuse or stay outside and use the finesse game. It doesn't hurt that he is one of the Senators' best defensive players as well. At only 24, imagine how good he will be in 3 years.
I think he broke out goal scoring wise last year, and I'm pretty sure he's older than 24? Anyway I would not call him a power forward. I know Ottawa desperately wants a player of that type, but he ain't it. He's a great skater, strong on his skates, but is hardly punishing physically, don't think he is 215 lbs either. One of the best goalscorers in the league for sure though, one of the best wingers in the league period
ottawasenators.com says he's 199 lbs and 6'1" and he just turned 25 on Jan 12. I wouldn't call him a power forward either, but he's a fairly good player anyway. :]

That weight is not updated, because he weighed 208 pounds at the beginning of training camp and he has put on more weight. Take a good look at the guy and if you think he weighs 199, then he's wearing alot of padding. I didn't say he was a complete power forward yet, but in a few years, he will be. He can have a bit of nasty side to him, can take and deliver hits, on top of his skilled game.
I don't care if he smashes viciously into people while he's scoring buckets of goals. Isn't that the definition of a power forward? I don't think solid defensive play is a usual power forward trait anyway. And being a Jacques Martin product, Hossa is very solid defensively. Of course.
That's quite a talent you have being able to guess a persons exact weight just by "seeing" them.
When you see someone and they weigh a certain weight and then see them sporadically 4-5 times over the next 3-4 months, its not hard to say they put on a few pounds. My 215 pounds was an estimation. I apologize if it doesn't meet the Yoata standards of identifying a person's exact weight.

Or is it that you just got caught making 3 exaggerations and now are attempting to justify it?
Nope. I didn't make an exageration in the least bit, just your different opinion, which once again, is the word of the land for everyone here.

As I said, it doesn't matter what he weighs, Kovalchuk is listed at 6'2 and 235 and he ain't a power forward either.
Sundin is 6'4 230 and he ain't one either.
If that is your point, then it would prove even more that Hossa could be a power forward candidate down the line if weight is of no consequence.

Shanahan, Bertuzzi, Iginla, Tkachuk, Guerin, Thornton, Lindros, Forsberg, Roberts, Mellanby, Nolan, these are power forwards.
Good for them, but we are talking about Marian Hossa. I'm not trying to compare him to other players. That's your perogative if you want to do that.

Hossa is no more a power forward than Naslund, Gaborik, Kovalev, Hejduk, Bondra or Elias.
Nope. I didn't make an exageration in the least bit
Hmm, let's see.
You said 215, FACTUAL SOURCES SAY: 199-208
You said 24, when actually he's 25.
You said Power Forward, when actually he's not. If he is, please define what a power forward is...
You said Next GREAT power forard, which even if he was a borderline power forward type, he' never be a great one. If you think otherwise, please, name some GREAT Power Forwards...
Oops, that's 4, my bad, I only said 3.
No, not the slightest exaggeration there, not at all. And not the slightest lack of consistency/integrity from the other thread on this subject either I suppose?
