Canucks senior vice president of hockey operations Dave Nonis said last night that the Canucks' newest acquisition could be heading back to the Sens because of Volchenkov's injury.
Wade Brookbank? He belongs to Vancouver. There is nothing on the sports wires about a move to Ottawa. But would it really be significant news?
26 years old; 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, 38 penalty minutes in 9 games up; 6 games down. He was originally signed as a free agent by the Sens on July, 27, 2001. He was claimed from Ottawa by the Predators in this year’s NHL Waiver Draft on October 3, 2003.
I don't know what the Sens or Ucks would want with this guy unless he is a defensive specialist of some sort. He would be an average sized defenceman with the Sens, but without the skill of the others. :]
Jacques "le strappe" Martin is said to be a fan of this kid and since the Sens miss Sami Salo so much, they might need a little kelp on the back end.
Maybe. Dude we just call him Jacquestrapington. :]
That looks like a 45' Prevost that you have for an avatar. I used to travel all over North America in one of those.
A 45' Prevost??? *blink* I wish. What do I look like I'm made of money? It's a 34' Fleetwood Southwind. If you look closely at the right quadrant 'barge' panel, you can see where I obliterated that pokey Honda Civic. It's okay though, those dead people were getting too old anyway. ock:
I believe the Chairman is right. Brookbank is back in Senstown.

Sens claim Brookbank, demote Emery
Canadian Press
12/19/2003
OTTAWA (CP) - Defenceman Wade Brookbank is on the move again.
The Ottawa Senators claimed Brookbank off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks on Friday and also assigned goalie Ray Emery to Binghamton of the AHL.
Vancouver acquired Brookbank, 26, from the Nashville Predators for future considerations Wednesday, then placed the native of Lanigan, Sask., on waivers. Had the six-foot-four, 255-pound Brookbank cleared waivers, the Canucks would have assigned him to the Manitoba Moose, their AHL affiliate.
Nashville picked up Brookbank from Ottawa during the NHL's waiver draft Oct. 3. Brookbank appeared in nine games with the Predators, registering 38 penalty minutes.
Ottawa signed Brookbank as a free agent in July 2001.
Emery, who was recalled Dec. 9, served as backup to Patrick Lalime for two games before stopping 27 shots in a 6-1 win over Chicago on Thursday.
Emery, a Hamilton native, has appeared in 18 games for Binghamton this season. He has posted an 8-7-2 record, 2.37 goals-against-average and .917 save percentage.
