Predators deny trade talk with Senators

RALEIGH, N.C. (CP) - Assistant GM Ray Shero of the Nashville Predators isn't giving much credence to a weekend trade rumour out of Ottawa claiming the Senators are pursuing Nashville winger Scott Walker.
"There's nothing to it from our end," Shero told the (Nashville) Tennessean. "Scott's a big part of our hockey team, so that story got started up there somewhere."
Walker, 30, is Nashville's second highest-paid player at $1.95 million US. He'll be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
Walker's agent and the Predators worked toward a contract extension in training camp and early in the season, but failed to reach an agreement.
