A great game coming up Thursday. Vancouver at Ottawa. And an almost certain win for the team with the NHL's number one powerplay - the streaking Ottawa Senators.
The Canucks have 30 points in 23 games while the Sens have 22 points in 20 games. A sens victory would give Ottawa 24 points in 21 games while Vancouver would remain at 30 points in 24 games. Ottawa could make up the 6 point gap with 3 victories in their 3 games at hand.
So a victory by the Senators over the Canucks is almost like a move into a tie with the Canucks for first place overall at 30 points. This is perfectly sensible.

Ya it's going to be a tough game for the Canucks especially with the sens riding their current "1" game winning streak giving them what a grand total of what 3 wins in their last 10 or so games and possibly matching their longest winning streak of the season. :lol: If the Canucks can pick up the win against this eastern power house known as the Sens then the Canucks would be 10 points up on the sens and safely put the Canucks out of reach of the sens, as at the sens current winning pace it will take them till xmas to collect 10 points. :lol: :lol: :P :P
Nice logic and beauty wanton optimism but both will fall flat (kinda like Chara against Bertuzzi) as the Canucks having learned the lesson of the slow start will come out firing on all cylinders. By the time the dust settles at the end of the first the few remaining fans at the Corel will be astonished to see the 17-0 score on the board for the Visitors :-}
Seriously, I think it will be a close games with lots of hits a couple of beauty goals and some sensational tending on both siders. I expect this to be one of the games of the year to watch. It should be fun to watch especially for Canuck fans as they will take it. No score prediction but I believe it will be a one goal decision, perhaps 2 with an empty netter.
BTW where's the poll. In the Canuck forum we always have a nifty pole to vote on and the Canucks invariably win. I like the poles. Can you put one in please :roll:

i think if ottawa comes out playing the way they have of late it can turn out to be a long night for them. however, like already mentioned, the canucks have been coming up flat in their opening of games. i expect this game to be a high scoring, physical contest with alot of good fast hockey. these two teams, imo, MIGHT be the best of the canadian teams in the league so it'll certainly be entertaining. i have no predictions in this, score wise, but i think the nucks have the better chance at coming out on top.
Havlat should be getting back in the line-up tonight and Smolinski is a gametime decision, but I'd bet he won't play. I'm going to this game, which should be a sell-out. Lalime is starting, so from an Ottawa perspective, hopefully he can feed off the Atlanta game. The only good thing about Lalime during his recent struggles is that, after Muckler publicly said he had to be better, Lalime agreed that he hasn't been good and has to step it up. Maybe wishful thinking, but Lalime's attitude is in the right place, which makes me believe he'll pull out of his recent struggles. A hard effort tonight by the Sens will go along way, as they have really lacked consistent efforts game in, game out so far!!!
Vancouver will want to complete their 2 game make-up after the Leafs left them winless. They beat the Habs, so the Sens would be a nice team to clean up their mess with.
On the other hand, Ottawa has to play well now, 'cause if they don't the players know their jobs are on the line. I can't see them tanking this game.
Both teams will leave unbeaten in . . . 2?

I chose Vancouver, and you have no idea how hard it is to chose between my two most hated franchises ....
Ottawa has not showed me anything this year, after the euphoria of a presidents trophy last year and a berth in the third round last season they have looked like they are going in the opposite direction this year, is it a success hangover?
Vancouver on the other hand has left me holding my breathe, yes they had a bit of a run to start the year, but it looks like they are playing that yo yo game the last week or so.

One solution to the low attendance figures in Pheonix is to paint the front of each seat with Bettman's face so that 12,000 smirking little Bettmans can be beamed to households and sports bars across Canada during games televised from Jobing.com Arena

Well your PP didn't score but it sure looked good. Your PK was incredible though. We barely got a sniff when we were up a man. Schaeffer played well and looked inspred but let's face it, the better team won :lol:
Good game, I can't wait for the finals to get going k:
