I'm surprised there isn't a thread on either the Sens or Oiler boards yet...
The Edmonton Oilers (5-5-1-0) visit the Corel Centre Thursday to play the Ottawa Senators (5-3-1-1) in the second game of a six-game road trip. It is the first of two games between the Oilers and Senators this season and Edmonton's only visit to Ottawa. The teams will meet again in Edmonton on March 14th.
The Oilers bring a three-game undefeated streak into Thursday's game as they are 2-0-1-0 from Oct. 30-Nov. 4. The streak has seen the Oilers defeat Columbus 5-4 OT (Oct. 30), tie Detroit 4-4 OT (Nov. 1) and defeat Montreal 4-2 (Nov. 4).
What are your thoughts on this game? My Magic 8-ball says the game will end in a tie.
Sens winless in 3. Oilers undefeated in 3. I have to go with the Sens. They're back home and will want to put the Isle game behind them. It'll be a good one though. 3-2 Sens in OT.

Get the feeling that he is pissed or not to happy. Prusek is starting for Ottawa, which is a good move, giving Lalime a break after the display on Monday against the Isles, and resting him up for Saturday's game versus the Devils. A few players need to be better for Ottawa:
Todd White. The overacheiver tag has sailed, teams actually pay attention to him. Although he has had an injury, he's got to be better.
Jason Spezza. He's been alright, but the last 3 games he's stunk it up, had no impact at all. He'll be up and down all year like that.
Peter Schastlivy. The talent is there, and he seems dedicated, but he has looked lost. Its really now or never for this guy!!!!

Craven,
do you think Muckler is pulling the bluff, just to kick start the team? I wouldn't think he would make a deal yet..since they are above 500
I don't think he would make a drastic move. Like don't expect to see Redden and Hossa being dealt anytime soon. One rumour I have heard is that they will sign Gilmour after Christmas when he is healthy for a playoff run. He hasn't signed his retirement papers and is good friends with Jacques Martin since their days in St. Louis. I'm iffy on such a move right now, but you never know with injuries down the line and Gilmour has some leadership, which can't hurt.
Ottawa's defense is on the verge of becoming completely healthy. With 8 guys back there capable of playing in the NHL, you have to figure that some of them will get impatient, particularly Leschyshyn, a veteran. When the playoffs roll around, I think they will dress (if healthy) Redden, Chara, Phillips, Rachunek, Volchenkov, as those are all givens, and Leschyshyn. Hnidy and Pothier will be sitting IMO. They'll have to trade one eventually.

Well if Redden is being moved we'll take him. He's be a pretty good 7th D man for us k:
What do you say, Redden for a 6th rounder ==()
