Default Buffalo visits the Sens

Will the Sens rebound from a lack lustre performance against the Panthers and take it to the Sabres?

The Sabres have won 4 of their last 5 including a 5-3 win over the Leafs on Thursday so it won't be a pushover or will it?

Ottawa's usually rock-solid defence has been pretty shaky so far this year. It's like we haven't played enough to shake the off-season mental cobwebs.

The Sabres were the first real rivalry the Sens had when we started getting into the playoffs... and then losing to Buffalo. This rivalry has been eclipsed by the hatred and frustration generated by the Leafs knocking us out three times in a row. The Sabres always give us fits. But with bigbigjim-like optimism I say: the loss to Florida was a slap in the head for the Sens., So we'll stomp Buffalo tonight.

Well, Ottawa has not looked great out of the gate this year, but their record is nothing to be ashamed of. Part of the problem is the lack of games, really, 2 games in 12 days??? What kind of scheduling is that??? Ottawa is a team that needs games played in order to keep their sharpness up, and they haven't had a groove yet to be able to sustain the play they want. The forwards for Ottawa have been good this year, its the defense, that has been inconsistent and giving up way too many pucks in their zone when they have easy chances to clear the puck, especially on the penalty kill. If the Senators are serious about contending for a Cup, a 27th overall PK unit will not cut it in the playoffs. Mind you, having the best powerplay in the NHL can make it a bit more tolerable!!!

Well the PP scored and the PK didn't give up any. Ties suck but they're better than losses. Perhaps now that Ottawa are playing a little more regularly they'll get into a better flow.

Excuses excuses excuses!!.You know reading posts like this from you now are kind of funny considering all the pre season talk coming from you on how "elite,"great"and so on and so on the sens are {were}.Elite dynasty teams find a way to win but no not the sens they play two of the leagues weaker sisters and can barely manage a point when one could argue how well rested and ready to play they should have been, fans now whine that they haven't played enough and use this as an excuse .Whats this "if" the sens are serious about contending for the cup??I was lead to believe that the sens were the odds on favorite to win it and now i hear talk about them possibly not being a serious contender?? :? OH well to each his own but try not to wreck the bandwagon as you never know when sens fans may want to jump back on it as it seems to be a sport in sens land to see how many times one can jump on and off of it.

The Flyers are playing very well, you should be very proud. I haven't changed my mind about Ottawa being a Cup contender, not in the least bit. I'm also being a bit realistic here and can can say Ottawa has not come out of the gate flying. I'm not too worried though, the samething happened last season (a slow start that is) and we finished pretty well. Oddly enough, the Senators are only 2 points behind the Flyers with 2 games in hand, even though Ottawa is not playing well and the Flyers are on fire!!! If you are going to come on here after every game that Ottawa loses, you are wasting my time. The excitement from opening night has passed. This point in the season sucks because not enough games have been played to start comparing and saying who is better, worse, etc.....Get back to me in December FF2!!!!
