Surprise, surprise, Martin Havlat is not in camp for the first day of training camp. The Sens turned down a 2 year, 4.8 million dollar deal from Havlat's agent. IMO, we can survive without him for a little while, but his presence will surely be missed as the season goes by. What will it take to get him signed???

It'll probably take a two year deal worth about 4.8 million to get him signed.
They'll be fine without Havlat for the first little while, but players that miss training camp have a slow time getting back into the grove when they finally join the team. It might be in the Havlats best intrest to get his deal done as fast as possible.

i wouldnt show up either if i had to go to ottawa everyday.
Havlat will have to pick it up a bit before they pay him MORE THAN HOSSA. Thanks for slamming my city by the way... and you can keep your TO commuting, traffic jams and smog. Ottawa is an excellent place to live and I wouldn't move anywhere else.

Fair enough grim2 regarding Toronto – tit-for-tat (as the non-breast-related expression goes).
Anyway, there’s no sense in worrying about the Havlat signing - just a bargaining tactic. He’d be a dumbass to bail on a team like Ottawa right now.
BTW: The general activity, the after-hours life, the multiculturalism, the contemporary art scene, and similar **** make denizens of large cities feel that the occasional smog alert is worth the price. Commuting is more of a problem if you don’t actually live in the city. That’s not to say that Ottawa sucks. It’s a nice quiet town that’s sometimes described as boring. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just different. Works well for people with that sort of temperament.

BTW: Ottawa is actually far from boring and quiet. The assuption is that people here all work for the government. They don't. Boring, quiet people can live boring, quiet lives here, as they can in Toronto. So if you ever actually visited here, I guess you were visiting boring, quiet people.
