Good to see Klassen get a medal, too bad their track suits were so disguistingly ugly.

Anton Ohno slipped and won't be defending his gold medal....lol the Canadian analysts are saying he was greedy, but man he really did screw up.

Edit: oh that is SO unfair! Charles Hammond was in first and the Koreans BUMPED HIM. and he ended up in fifth. how devestating
okay, he moved up to 4th (the loser whoever got DQed, but still...that's such a hard luck)

Okay, so after two days of competiing Canada has 2 medals. Not bad.

Scott not winning was a disappointment, Turcotte got eliminated, but Hammond nearly won (stupid Korean skater...I curse you :haha: ), and ended up a surprising 4th. We finished 13th in downhill racing (somewhere where he wasn't even supposed to finish, more near the bottom), and I think every Canadian finished at least near the top 30 (and 42 for our lone Ski-Jumper), in sports where we don't even come close to making our mark, so that's very good.

Klassen winning bronze was a disappointment, but this is how I see it. She won a medal, first of all, and everyone heavily considered (the Germans, Annie Fressiner and Claudia P.), didn't skate a good race, neither did Hughes and Groves. The ice is crap, and they all polietly said so, and I think what this does is gives everyone a gauge. Instead of cranking out a world record time, just try and pace and go for it at the end. This will REALLY help the distance skaters when its time for the 5000. I don't think the 1000 will be too difficult to do.

So basically, out of the 3 medals we expected to win this weekend, we end up with 2, so that's 2 out of 3 conversion rate.

There is more skeedskating (mens) tommorow, and I think Wotherspoon is up for that, so who knows.
