First congrats to the Pens fans. You deserved game 7 for sure. However as a Detroit fan I have to say now that the season is over the NHL should be ashamed. There was so obvious a lean to wanting to help any team playing Detroit starting with the Anaheim series.

So disappointing to see a team that dealt so professionally through such obvious bias lose.

Not taking the victory from the pens fans but to bad we couldn't see if they actually could win a 7 game series with fairly called games and no bias from the NHL. Pens fans should enjoy. NHL on the other hand should cover it's face in shame!!!

They only booed Bettman. Not sorry ass. You didn't follow the series from Anaheim on. They cheered for eveything else. Actually it's too bad Bettman screwed up so bad duruing this entire payoffs vs. Detroit. As there would never even had been the chance that a Pens fan or player (more importantly) would think we booed them. The Detroit fans have alsways been gracious in the past and they are now. It's the build up and only directed at Bettman.

As I said this is not about taking away from the pens fans. Just really poor officiating and NHL slant against Detroit. The announcers in almost everytgame agreed at points.

Anyway you'll see it the way you want to. This is about the NHL, Bettman and the officiating. Not the pens.

I do wish we had won because I would still have posted this and you wouldn't be able to make the assurtion of some kind of "sore loser" thing going on.

Oh well it needed to be said and you will take it the way you want to.

No matter what you might feel about the series, no matter what your alliance is, there is no excuse to Boo the presentation of Lord Stanley's Cup. No matter if you have a issue with Bettman and the league, that's fine. But, there are better ways of expressing it. the cup is bigger than any one team. That's like Booing every past winner. The Cup deserves respect and even though I didn't have alot of respect for the "evil empire" before, I lost little more after seeing that tonight.

I suppose you could take that reverent opinion of the cup. And there is some validity to that opinion.

However again it wasn't the cup being booed it was bettman. They cheered for the players current and past while having the cup. When else could they show Bettman and the NHL how badly thye did during the playoffs.

BTW it's not just Detroit fans. I have been on several forums mostly from Canada and non detroit fans who have been watching the playoffs have been saying this as well. They are of course not as animate, as they didn't have what they felt is a stake in the games. But they still voiced how wrong so many games (again starting with the Anaheim series, which should only have taken 4 games) non calls, overtly wrong calls and NHL decisions handed out only for teams playing red wings. The rule of the series was "the rules don't apply if you are laying Detroit." Also by the way the announcers of the games voiced similar position from game to game.

Detroit did good to boo bettman and cheer the others. (in my opinion which is only my opinion ... but a well shared one by NHL fans across a broad spectrum from what I can see)

I hate Bettman as much as the next guy, but the same thing has been going on for years and years. He gets booed every time he appears in any role.

He gets booed at drafts. He gets booed in arenas when they show him on the screens. He gets booed at the NHL awards.

Claiming the booing for Bettman tonight is some sort of by-product from a conspiracy against the Red Wings is grasping at straws, and quite frankly, wrong. No fan really likes Bettman, and they boo him at any chance they get.

Booing Bettman at the end of the playoffs has been happening for many years. Do I find it disrespectful of the Cup and the players who won it? Sure. Do I act like it's never happened before and it's only ever been in Detroit that he's been booed while presenting the Cup? No, because it's happened elsewhere.

WTF MAN?

If anything the refs made more calls in Detroit's favour than they did in Pittsburg's.

For the most part there were tons of non-calls and bad calls on both sides. It basically evens out and the right team won.

I say the fans have the right to boo anything they want. They pay money to go to that game, it's their right. if I pay money to go to a game then I damn sure do as I please as long as it's within the law.

They booed Bettman. They cheered win the Cup was brought out and Malkin won the Smythe. They even cheered when the Pens were skating the Cup around. I at least heard that.
