Default Question about the Prince of Wales and Campbell Bowl

I noticed that Lindstrom didn't take the trophy when it was presented to him, and neither did Crosby.

Though in 2002 Yzerman and Brindamor held their respective trophies in the air after winning the conference championship.

Is there are rule where you aren't allowed to hoist either trophy on the ice or did I miss something?

It's just a silly superstition. Nothing more.

Its about the fact that the team that doesn't touch the cup has won Lord Stanley more then those who have pickied up the two, doesn't mean much.

to hoist and celebrate a lesser cup, is to suggest to the hockey gods and leprechauns that you are already content with your achievement.

those who aim higher, wait until they have acquired something worth celebrating

(basically)

If he could stand up for himself he'd still be in Edmonton.

It's not just a superstition. When Steve Yzerman skated the conference trophy around in 1995 as if it were the Cup I knew that they had no chance in the finals. They were then swept. The conference trophy is a piece of trash. It means nothing.

Wasn't that the year when "trap" hockey was created?

Means you beat 14 othe teams in your conference/division/whatever they want to call them now. I'll take it over being kicked to the golf course by May.

Unless you're not in that sort of thing.

But hey, maybe you'll get lucky and we can eliminate those two icons of the game's history too.

It's just "superstition" with some captains not to "touch" the Conference trophy as they deem it bad luck for the Cup finals.
