Default Stanley Cup Finals: Detroit vs. Pittsburgh

This will be a heck of a series with finesse and speed throughout. We're going to see some first finals appearances for a lot of players in this series.

Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg vs Sidney Crosby and Evegeni Malkin

Who wins it?

I voted Wings in 7, but.... you know. The Pens are good.

I got the Pens in 6 winning on home ice.

This should be a great mathcup. I think the Pens got more scoring depth than the Wings but the Wings backline definatley is stronger than the Pens. Im hoping the ace in the whole for the Pens is going to be Fleury who has been playing great hockey. It is going to be key for the Pens to continue to play great defensive hockey as I dont want to see Holmstrom, "The Mule", or Cleary(sry if I butchered some of the spelling) setting up shop in front of the net all series. Im hoping the Pens D can turn the Wings into a one line team.

A one line team indeed, shown in the last couple games against Dallas. That will be a hard task to achieve if Franzen returns with the same jump he had before having to sit out those games. But for now I agree, an offensive edge to the Penguins.

Defensive edge to the Wings for sure.

Goaltending is difficult. Osgood has been better than he has been given credit for, but Fleury has been excellent. It will be a great series for sure.

Question for people: are the Wings still soft?

I'll take the Wings in six with Lidstrom and Rafalski leading the way.

Pittsburgh is good, but I'd say the Wings have overcome the tougher competition in the playoffs taking out the Dallas Stars. Pittsburgh to me seemed to have favorable matchups all throughout the playoffs, but Detroit will match them if not more in terms of talent.

The Wings are more solid defensively, and that will be the difference.

Wings in 6.

Can Fluery play well when facing more shots than he is used to?

And can Lindstrom, Lebda, Rafalski, Kronwall and company stop the lines of Crosby Malkin and Hossa?

If my memory serves correctly the pens haven't fared too well against the Wings in the regular season. We shall see what happens.

have they played more then 12 game against eachother in the last 4 years? if so its only 2 and that can't tell you anything about two teams.

Penguins in 6, think that there just gonna overwelm the Wings.

the slot is Holmstrom's office xD

and didnt you hear the sportscaster last night during the game, he said there's a danger of Detroit relying on the Dadsyuk/Zetterberg line too much.

I happen to agree with him.
