Players will get pissed and will have run ins, Ribeiro usually never acts like this, so I wouldn;t consider him a douchebag for losing his temper once.
Thats not the only thing I base that opinion on. I'm sure everyone remembers his squirming act when he was on the Habs. Way worse than Ozzie's acting job.
I officially hate Barry Melrose. He has been obsessed with Dallas since he became a commentator, and he even defended the cheap shot on Osgood, saying what Osgood did was worse.
Yeah, putting your stick in someone's way is more dangerous than a two hand to the neck.

Good to see Melrose is converting more people every day to demand competent colour commentary.

If he could stand up for himself he'd still be in Edmonton.
Mike Ribeiro has had his moments and is a pretty cocky guy. I try not to be a homer and look at a situation from both sides, but can you really blame Ribeiro? I mean Osgood hit him with the butt-end, it's complete bs that he did it on accident. I'm not saying Ribeiro is an angel here because he certainly isn't, but I'm absolutely sick of people acting like Osgood is completely innocent.

You aren't blaming Ribeiro? Really? Osgood shouldn't have put his stick in his face, but that wasn't the intent on his putting it there. He was trying to run interference (like was said before) on a guy who was looking to go after one of his players when the game was already over. He didn't look to butt end the guy, he just went to provide interference. Ribiero went headhunting at Osgood as retaliation. So yeah I think I can blame him.

He's not innocent. Neither is Riberio. They both acted stupidly.
That pretty much sums it up.

I think given the circumstances Ribeiro deserved at the most a game, so I don't have a problem with only fines and no suspensions being handed out.
I will say this though, the Stars are playing with fire by pissing the Wings off. They've already pretty much had their way with everybody since Game 5 of the Nashville series, giving them more motivation to beat you probably isn't the wisest decision.

Ozzie should never have gotten involved he's the goaltender not a forward. He should have stayed in his net and let Ribeiro do something really stupid that he could be suspended for, instead of letting him off cause of his own foolishness.

Yeah, like letting Ribeiro take Rafalski out for the series... I disagree. Osgood stuck his stick out to protect a team mate and Ribeiro didn't have to go right through there. He could have gone around. Osgood hardly ever impedes a forward, but with the horn sounding, I think he's justified.
Why does Tippett put Ott on the ice when the team needs to score with 30 seconds left? Hmmmm....just to cause trouble. He needs a fine too. I don't think Ott should be fined for his punch, take it to the coach for being an idiot.

If you are the only thing stopping that guy from injuring one of your players, then of course he should have done something.
It isn't about letting someone get a suspension. It is about keeping your teammates from getting hurt.
Dallas once again could not capitalize on early chances, and the Wings made them pay dearly for being unable to gain momentum or the lead.
First period: Hated the Wings for playing on their heels. Gotta give Dallas props for being able to create so many chances and keep it in the offensive zone.
Second period: Detroit played much better, but I think Dallas still had the upperhand, and were finally able to catch a break on the Richards goal.
Third period: All Red Wings. Dalls was not able to provide any decent scoring chances, and Detroit ran away with it.
