Let's see, where to start...first off, why don't you
read this to see what the Flyer's defense did to the best player in the league.
You said you're offense was no good because of a boring defense? Who cares how the defense plays...look at the Cups New Jersey won over the last 15 years...through boring trap defense. It worked.
Let's compare stats, your power play sucks so far in the post season. I don't care how the other team played or who they have for one big defenseman. Braydon Coburn is faster, a better passer, and better with the puck as he's far more mobile than Chara. Coburn and Timonen are going to be handful for your team, especially on the power play.
The Flyers have the top two players in offensive production through the first round in Briere and Prospal and Richards is in the top 10. Your player with the most points is tied for 17th.
Team scoring - Flyers 4th, Montreal 8th. Scoring against - Montreal 4th, Flyers 8th, but the goal differential between the two teams is almost the same.
Based on the numbers, I'll give Price a bit of a nod over Biron from the first round, but their numbers are not much different and the Flyers played the best forward in the league and one of the fastest teams in the league, not Boston. Price has given up 15 goals through 7 games, Biron 20, but only 12 of those goals were even strength. Same as Price, 12 even strength goals. So not much of a difference there.
Both teams have 17 players who have registered at least one point so far in the post season.
Mike Richards is starting to come into his own, and he is a player that can dominate the play. He's one of the best 2 way forwards and one of the most complete players in the league. He's not a real flashy guy, but he can certainly make you look silly.
This is going to be a great series that could easily go 7 games. The Flyers have better depth on offense with their 7 20+ goal scorers and 11 different goal scorers in the playoffs. The Canadiens have 12 different players who have scored a goal.
There is no clear advantage and to pick on team over the other in less than 6 games is being awfully bold.
Burnside picked the Canadiens in 5 but he was dead wrong in the last series.
