Who has played on the Ducks and Oilers??
Hi everyone! I am trying to find out who has played on the Anaheim Ducks (Mighty Ducks) and the Edmonton Oilers and played on the Ducks first. Does anyone know where I can find this information? I believe there were five players. Feel free to reply to this thread or message me at NHLNied27@aol.com. Thank you.

Lupul, Smid and Penner are the only 3 I can think of.

Bobby Dollas, Chad Kilger, Dominic Roussel, Mikhail Shtalenkov, Petr Sykora, Adam Oates, Curtis Glencross, Dustin Penner, Martin Gerber and Ryan Whitney played on the Ducks first and then the Oilers.
Shaun Van Allen, Anatoli Semenov, Ron Tugnutt, Fredrik Olausson, Roman Oksiuta, Jari Kurri, Kevin Todd, Drew Bannister, Tony Hrkac, German Titov, Todd Marchant, Tyler Wright, Chris Pronger, Marc-André Bergeron, Doug Weight, Josh Green, Lubomir Visnovsky, Danny Syvret and Brad Winchester went the other way. Played on the Oilers first and then the Ducks.
Scott Ferguson played for the Oilers before and after the Ducks. Joffrey Lupul played for the Ducks before and after the Oilers.
I think that's it. If I missed anybody, just add them. If this information is going to be used in a blog post or article or something, I request both credit and a plug for this forum.

Thank you so much. This has nothing to do with a blog. It was a question on a podcast I listen to. Where did you get your information?

Hockey Reference combined with a search script in Chrome. The results are a little buggy for teams that have very, very long histories at the moment (so I wouldn't use it for a Leafs/Red Wings comparison for example), but for a team with a shorter history like the Ducks, it seems to have worked fairly well.
However, it's possible that I might be missing one or two players on the list, but cross-reference with HockeyDB does show that the players I mentioned played for the Ducks and then the Oilers. Combined with players that we know played for the Ducks first (such as Penner, Lupul, Whitney and Gerber because of how recently they were with the Oilers) where I can say that the results are accurate enough. If you find any that I hadn't mentioned in that post, feel free to let me know.
Here's just some examples of using HockeyDB for cross-reference.
Bobby Dollas
Anaheim Mighty Ducks (1993-1998): 305 GP
Edmonton Oilers (1998): 30 GP
Chad Kilger
Anaheim Mighty Ducks (1995-1996): 45 GP
Edmonton Oilers (1998-2001): 87 GP
Curtis Glencross
Anaheim Ducks (2006-2007): 2 GP
Edmonton Oilers (2007-2008): 26 GP
Feel free to check anybody else I mentioned though.
As far me questioning it being for a blog, that's just something I have to ask. In the past, I've given out information like this only to find it in a blog entry at a later time without any sort of nod where they got it from.

Of course I made a mistake. I should have stated that I am looking for all the players, 6 in total, that played for the Ducks and the Kings, but played on the Ducks first. Sorry for the mistake. Dustin Penner is one.
