We also live in a golden age for hockey coverage, with FAR more games on TV than we've ever had, and more info than you can shake a stick at.

I can live with that.

One word sums my thoughts up: agreed.

The hockey package is an amazing thing.

Note to all - be careful where you live when ordering it though. When I lived in Philly, I only lost Flyers games, and they were easily picked up on TV. But when I lived in Morristown, NJ I lost Devils, Rangers, and Islanders games - 3/5 of the Atlantic division my Penguins played in - so that was pretty lame.

Go watch some hockey before you Comment I have 80's hockey games on Video tape and DVD's and guys would rap there arms around a player to keep them from moving or hook them and penalties were rare for that.

Ok bud. I'm through arguing with you after this. Just watch some highlights of Gretzky's in the 80s and then compare it to the skill level of goals from today.

Highlights don't mean dick, they show all the pretty stuff not the plays like where Lanny Mcdonald tackled gretzky when he was behind the net in the 1988 playoff series, or all the hooking and hold they show the dangles and the one timers you rarely see the grabbing, if you really want to see what its like buy this: http://www.amazon.ca/NHL-Edmonton-Oi.../dp/B001D7T44W

Now highlights don't even demonstrate what is correct? What does then? Your word? Notice how alone you are on your stance?

I saw Pronger tackle somebody behind the net just a few weeks ago.

You ask Ovechkin if he would trade his Art Ross and Richard Trophies, to trade places with Sidney Crosby last June.

Default the 1960's

My favorite era is the 1960's---the era of Stan Mikita,
Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, a young Phil Esposito, a young
Bobby Orr and Jean Beliveau.

Did Bettman and Campbell quit recently?

Well popular again. Apparently "The Trap" has had a few incarnations since being used by the Leafs in the 60's. Wish I had the article that I read that on, was interesting reading.

As for mine I'd say a combo of 80's to 1994-95 (with the zenith being 1993), and to a lesser extent the mid 40's to late 60's. There's something to be said for having division/conference names with flavour, and boards that don't' feel like you're watching an infomercial (among many other things).

If he could stand up for himself he'd still be in Edmonton.

Hockey parents, dont' let your children grow up to be zealots.

Obession is not just a cologne.

The expansion of the early 90's watered down the league a bit for my taste.

Yes the trap has had many incarnations, my favorite being the "press" used by Craig "It is not a trap!" MacTavish and the Oilers in their last cup finals run.
