Default Long Island doesn't deserve a team anymore

8,161 people at the coliseum tonight is an absolute joke. I really hope this team gets moved to Brooklyn in the new Barclay's arena.

Well, I guess you could always merge with the Rangers or move to Brooklyn, Kansas City, Las Vegas, or Winnipeg.

But even with the Stars success, I'm not sure if many people in Long Island know Dallas has a hockey team; may be that contributed to the low number.

Either that or people stayed home to watch Hartnell cheapshot Alberts to continue the '07-'08 Flyers legacy.

Their is more to it than that. If they don't have a promotional night, they get horrible attendance, so in other words, if people are not being dragged to the games, no one goes, no matter who they are playing. 2 Ranger games didn't sellout this year for the first time ever. Long Islanders have had a history of being bad/fair weathered fans, whether it's Met fans or Isles fans.

The smartest thing to do is to Tank this season and sell everyone at the deadline and do what Chi and Pitt did and load up on 1st round picks, it's the only way to save this franchise on LI, cause if that new arena thing does not go through, this team will be sold cause i believe the only reason Wang has this team is for that whole development project of his.

Yay another prospect team for the sand people! (freakin sarcasm)

Just pisses me off now cuz I know any team in trouble will get pushed further down to these circus markets and away from the fans.

Hell that type of attendance would be more than welcome for the Devils orginization. Be a huge crowd for them.

Most likely the Rangers AHL Wolfpack will be in the brooklyn arena. And the amount of fee's Wang would have to cough up over territorial rights to the Rangers would be alot. Wangs best bet is to move to Yaphank in suffolk county. With talks about a Nascar track coming can an arena be in the works as well? Wang has clot he could jump on board with top gun entertainment.

Default Always support your team

You should always support your team even in hard times.
Remember the last place Boston Bruins of the 1960's?
The fans were told to be patient and Bobby Orr finally
arrived. You have to draft wisely, be patient, and
then your team in time will be a winner. Keep behind
your team, whomever you root for. Of course, make wise
suggestions for trades, but don't get on your team's
general manager. GM's have traded poorly under pressure from fans.

Keep behind your Islanders. Don't desert them.

This is one of the very fews games this year that the Isles havent had more than 15,000 people. Remember that the Nassau Coliseum only seats a little more then 16,000 people. The team has had great attendance so far this year and this is the only unfortunate game were they only brought in little more than 8,000 people. I would have thought the place would be packed to watch a western conference team.

I'd never desert the team, but if i was within distance of the arena to atleast go to games every now and than, i definitely would on nights where i knew we'd draw flies.

I know their is enough fans of this team and they need to put the past behind them. All they seem to want to do is say how bad the org has been the last 15 years, but the prior 15 years to that they were arguably the best team in the league , so what gives? If they're not winning cups, no one will come?

Nah, the Stars won't draw(in this area), especially on Monday night where the weather was not good.

That was bought up and would be a good idea but probably harder than what he has planned now in Uniondale.
