BREMERHAVEN, Germany — Former Northern Michigan University hockey player Darin Olver has signed a contract to play hockey for the Fischtown Pinguins in Bremerhaven, Germany.
The team plays in the German second league, according to the NMU Sports Information Department.
Other players with NMU roots who have played for the Pinguins include Troy Jacobsen (1985-89) and Phil Soukoroff (1988-92).
A 6-0, 190-pound center, Olver registered 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points in 41 games for NMU in the the 2006-07 season. His assists led the team.
