Default Nassau taps Isles to build new Coliseum

MINEOLA, N.Y. -- A group headed by the owner of the New York Islanders was selected Thursday to renovate the Nassau Coliseum as part of a $1.6 billion development project, Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi said.
I dont know what i think of all this. I dont understand why they want to build a new building. I could have seen it if it were old.. The colusseum is not that old. now if it were the joe... The wings need a new building.

It would make sense if they were actually a good hockey club!!!!

If i am reading the quote right there are going to renovate the coliseum not tear it down.the coliseum opened in 1972 and is not that old but look at what happened to the onmi in atlanta and richfield coliseum in cleveland were the flames and cleveland barons played. those arenas were not that old but were torn down in the late 1990s.
