Not a bad deal IMO. $3M for a solid defenseman. Would like to see a few more points for that money though, but we seem to be seeing more money for defensive specialists.

While Oduya doesn't get much attention around the league he's a very solid defenseman (much like Paul Martin) with potential. He was the one Devils free agent I was most worried would leave in the offseason, but Lou found a way to get him signed to a reasonable contract.
