well, like i said, it's pretty shocking. i'm sure people will see this as almost a joke, half-admittingly that they're happy that this happened, but in an issue like this, you have to look at Owens as a person, and not just an outspoken football player. he has undoubtedly been under alot of stress/pressue over the past few years, and every person has his breaking point. i'm personally sad to hear about this, i never hated owens, i respected him as a a player and also a person who has the balls to express how he feels and have fun playing the game. i hope every measure is taken by him to fix whatever problems he's having, and that he continues to have a successful NFL career. hopefully this incident wont haunt him too much.

Don't mean to offend but I truly think TO is a bad, bad guy. He's a hugely talented man with all the gifts to be one of the greatest(if not the greatest) wide receiver ever. He's an absolute physical freak....amazing shape. He's just a terrible person from all that I can see. A bad team guy....one that would not hesitate to take cracks at his own teamates in the public, completely and utterly out for himself. Selfish, selfish, selfish....an absolutely horrible role model for children. This suicide attempt is another go at making himself the centre of the universe......and if this story is completely true (which it appears it is). He'll be firmly at the centre....at least the media universe anyway.
Maybe wishing for his death is a bit much. BUT I think that if he were to retire to a tropical island (he certainly could buy a couple dozen) for the rest of his days....we would better off as football fans.

I agree whole heartedly with this. This is just a bizzare story. Like I said, I can't stand the guy, but the last thing I think anyone expected from a man with this outgoing personality was to have suicidal thoughts.
I don't think it's a secret that a lot of the Philly fans lost a lot of respect and good thoughts about TO, but no one, with the exception of CBC, wanted to see anything like this happen.
