NASHVILLE - The Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League announced that they have extended a qualifying offer to center Vernon Fiddler, who began his professional career in the ECHL.
Fiddler was selected to the ECHL All-Star Game and to the ECHL All-Rookie Team in 2001-02 after scoring 55 points (27g-28a) in 44 games with Roanoke of the ECHL. He also played in the American Hockey League with Norfolk where he had 13 points (8g-5a) in 38 regular season games and four points (1g-3a) in four playoff games. He began his professional career in 2000-01, signing with Arkansas of the ECHL after completing his junior career in the Western Hockey League. He had one assist in three regular season games and three goals in five Kelly Cup Playoff games for the RiverBlades.
