His numbers in Calgary aren't as good as they were in Colorado, but when I look at the style of play of both teams, Colorado's style is much closer to ours than the Flames. Calgary is a dump and chase, physical team and that's definitely not Tanguay's style. He's a puck carrier, a skater who likes to keep possession of the puck when entering the zone, which is the style we play in Montreal. I think that he'll fit quite well with us.
I will admit having a little concern not due to Tanguay, but more to the bad experience we had the last time we picked up that type of player (see Samsonov). The difference is that Tanguay is playing at home and will be in shape while putting the effort, which is what sank Sammy back then.
