I can't believe how cocky and arogant some fans can be over a team that never even got out of the second round of the playoffs.!!

Now their a shoe in for the cup next year.??

Pretty hard to take them serious.

Yeah I know , we're pretty awesome
Anybody who doubt we'll win the cup this year if we sign Sundin is just kidding with himself

Actually, + are both part of the NHL, not bigger, not smaller.

OK.

Where ">" can be assumed to mean "better than". I hope that makes things clearer for you.

I'll add : In more ways than one. Assuming your just talking here about winning a cup.

Montreal has won more cups, but it could also be aded that the habs have existed since 1909 giving them more chances to win it. Wings? 1926.

but ever notice how much of the changes that needed to be made in society and with the NHL it was undertaken by wings.

For example Larionov helping to make it possible for Russian players to come here legally and play hockey . Larionov once was a wing.

Done.

Same Deal or you have another idea?

BTW , please lock the old thread , I think this one will be very interesting this year.

You know the worst thing about the bet we made , you picked an old Darcy Tucker pic in a habs jersey , awesome idea , but the fact that you'll maybe see Mats Sundin in a habs jersey all year long is more hilarious

' Better than ' I don't know , the Habs are just awesome in general as a franchise.

Don't worry , I also like and respect the Red Wings.

I think the Habs , with Sundin of course , will be better than Detroit.I hope Howard is ready for you guys , Osgood did a great job and everything , but I doubt it'll happen next year again with Ozzy in net.

I'm a big Lidstrom fan since the 90s , a big Brett Hull fan also , liked when he was with you guys , gotta lot of respect for Yzerman , Bowman of course , Holland and Develano ( how does it spell ? ) , and i'm a big Nicklas Kronwall fan since he's in the league for some mysterious reasons , now of course these reasons became clearer lol.I also like Datsyuk , and I always said Zetterberg will be a star way back , now for some reasons I dont like him like I used to , dont hate him , dont like him , and I just cant say why because in fact he's awesome.

This is funny...the team that didn't get past the second round because they lost to a team that wasn't even expected to make the playoffs when the season started last year...

The Habs were declared a shoe in to win the Cup last year...that sure worked out.

Will Price figure out his glove this year?

The Habs roster as it is looks pretty good, but how can that team who couldn't get past the 07-08 Flyers and barely got by the Bruins win the Cup?

If the rest of the division Montreal played in wasn't so bad, I wouldn't even pick them to win the Conference. Toronto is a mess, Ottawa isn't looking very good, Boston is ok, and Buffalo hasn't been the same since losing a number of top players over the couple years. That division is almost looking like the Southeast from a few years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if Montreal is the only team that makes the playoffs from that division this year.

Montreal was picked by most "expert" to finish from 10 to 13th in their conference. They beat those odds in winning the conference. Let's give credit where credit is due. Loosing in the second round with such a young team is very good in my opinion.

I'm not sure where you saw the Habs as a shoe in to win the Cup, but not many would have predicted that.

As for Price, he's the least of my worries.

Let's consider the Flyers were picked to finish in the same bracket or worse. Let's remember, all the "experts" except Melrose picked the Habs to beat the Flyers in that series. That team may be young, but they have some stud players. The Flyers are in no way an older or more experienced team. The rosters in their playoff matchup were virtually identical in playoff experience.

I'll give the Habs credit for having a good year, but at the same time, did anyone expect Ottawa to completely tank, Buffalo to be less than average after how well they played the year before, Toronto be a perpetual mess and their goaltending to suck it up, or Boston to not really be anything special?

The more I think about it, the Northeast is looking more and more like the Southeast of the last 6 or 7 years.

I sense a strong sense of some people getting banned in the future because of this thread.

I hate arguing and debating when people ignore simple facts and speak out of their ass.

Oh, btw Wings.
