I'm not surprised. Seeing his age and the lengthy lay off. I'm wondering if maybe said injury was perhaps from lack of off-season preparation. Certainly not the way he wanted to start the season I'm sure.

i very much doubt it was from lack of season prep, but however i do know is that a groin injury never really heals its self unless you stay off of it, and nurse it back slowly, i'm going through it right now, and i'm trying to skate but at a very light pace and intensity level. I think he wil be fine, and it just takes some time, remember the young can burn out early as well, but a veteran starts a little slower, then picks up the pace, it's a long season
