Bob Gainey's evaluation is over...
I watched the first two periods of the Habs-Dallas game on RDS, then I had a party to go to... But in the second intermission, I watched Pierre Houde and Yvon Pedneault interview Bob Gainey. Here what I retained from the interview:
When asked if he saw areas to improve his team by trade for a playoff run, he said that he's had time to evaluate the players in place by now. Gainey mentioned that he didn't want to make early season's moves, because he wanted to see what the team looked like with a complete roster, pointing out that both Kilger and Koivu were injured early on. He was impressed with the play of several players, naming Ryder, Ribeiro, Souray, Theodore, and surprised with the skill level of other players such as Markov. But he pointed out that they don't have a right handed centerman, and if he had a chance to find one on the market, he may try to land him!
My question is: Who do you think he'd be after???
Jason Arnott's name was mentioned in trade rumours recently... who else? :::]
