Steve Begin.

It was Bob Gainey's real first player movement. For those of you who don't know, Gainey claimed Begin off waivers from Buffalo during the waiver draft. They said during last night's game that Buffalo didn't expect anyone to pick him up so they took the chance and put him on waivers.

Don't get me wrong he isn't a superstar but he is the type of depth player that the Habs need. He can skate, is gritty and is not afraid to get his nose dirty. He also does have some offensive upside.

I live in SJ and when the Flames were here Begin was captain. I remember watching him in the Calder Cup Finals when the Flames won. He was MVP and well deserving.

Plus he is good defensively. I like the role Julien is using him in.

hehe....Begin....never seen him play but i'm thinking he wouldn't make the nucks...he sounds ok...what are his stats?

He only has one goal this year but I'm not talking in terms of points. He brings more to the table. Over here in the East its not all about scoring goals and looking pretty. We have to play tough hockey and thats what he plays. He plays 100% every night!

No, he wouldn't. We have players that offer more, like Keane..Ruttu, May etc.
