Exactly!

Bob Gainey wasn't brought in to make a Stanley Cup contender out of this team in 2003!! He was brought in the build a team to win in the next few years.

As frustrating as it is to watch I don't think they have played that badly. Other then the Columbus game I think they have played good enough to win their last bunch of games. But if you only score 1 goal a game you ain't never gonna win :?

I thought their best line last night was Begin-Ryder-Hossa. But they didn't get very much ice time. Its going to be a long year, I guess we just have to accept that. We get lots of chances but don't have a lot of players with a nose for the net.

Now they play in Ottawa tommorrow.......lets just hope they can keep it close and not get embarassed because they go out west after that and they never play well out there.

So I guess I cant watch the Habs for antoher 5 years because they wont be contenders until then. But your right rather be contenders in a few years than always be pretenders(aka Toronto Maple Sirups)

I'm not saying they can't win games or make the playoffs because they have played well BUT people need to chill out. Its make no sense for the Habs to go and trade Theo, Komi, Hainsey....etc. You need to build a core and I believe that they have a solid core at the back end. Very young, big and talented.

A little off topic but who else thinks that Brisebois has been pretty good this year? I think it has a lot to do with playing with Souray. His numbers don't look that good but I have seen pretty much every game and he has very good!
