Souray a Force on the BlueLine
Quote:
Souray a force on Habs' power play
CBC SPORTS ONLINE - New York Islanders forward Mariusz Czerkawski is an obvious early-season favourite as NHL comeback player of the year, but there is at least one surprising contender.

Montreal Canadiens defenceman Sheldon Souray, who has never eclipsed the 15-point mark in each of his five NHL seasons, leads the club with six goals and seven points in 15 games.
Souray leads all NHL defencemen in goals, with Lubomir Visnovsky of the Los Angeles Kings next with four.
The 27-year-old Souray, who missed all of last season with a complicated wrist injury, has become a force on special teams. He has three power-play goals - tied with centre Yanic Perreault for the team lead - and one shorthanded marker.
Souray has shattered his career-high of three goals in a season (achieved four times) and will attempt to close in on a personal-best 11 points - set three years ago - when Montreal plays host to the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday at the Bell Centre.
But the key statistic for the native of Elk Point, Alta., is games played.
A fractured left wrist forced Souray to miss 41 contests during the 2001-02 season.

I have been really impressed with Souray. He was the key the Canadiens were missing last season. A tough, solid defenseman. And this year he is proving his worth
