Theodore named Molson Cup Player of the Month
Goaltender Jose Theodore is the Molson Cup Player of the Month for October. He collected 20 points in the Molson Cup standings, tied with forward Mike Ribeiro. Three first-star selections gave the edge in the award, however, to Theodore.
Theodore played in nine of the Canadiens' 11 games in October. He posted a record of five wins and four losses (5-4-0), including a league-leading three shutouts. He also maintained a 2.12 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
A presentation honoring the Molson Cup winner will take place prior to Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers, at the Bell Centre.
Theodore wins a Molson Cup segment for the 13th time in his career with the Canadiens. He has been the Molson Cup Player of the Year for the last three seasons.
