The Montreal Canadiens have extended qualifying offers to winger Michael Ryder, centre Tomas Plekanec and defenceman Josh Georges.
Ryder, who was drafted by the Canadiens in 1998, appeared in 80 games in 2006-07 and registered 30 goals and 58 points.
Plekanec was drafted in 2001 by the Habs and scored 20 goals and 47 points in 81 games last season.
Georges was acquired by the Canadiens from San Jose February 25 in exchange for Craig Rivet. He appeared in seven games for Montreal and was held pointless. In 47 games with the Sharks in 2006-07 he recorded one goal and three assists.
The Edmonton Oilers also made offers today to left winger Raffi Torres, defencemen Matt Greene and Mattieu Roy, but did not extend one to left winger Brad Winchester.
Torres has played the last four seasons in Edmonton after he was acquired from the New York Islanders as part of the Janne Niinimaa trade in March 2003. He appeared in all 82 games for the Oilers last season, scoring 15 goals and 34 points.
Greene was drafted by the Oilers in the second round, 44th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Last year was his first full season in the NHL and in 78 games he posted one goal and ten points.
