Back on topic, considering figure skaters have to be in very good shape it's not really suprising the majority of them are attractive. Although, as Krypt points out, you can still be athletic and have a face like a catcher's mitt.

While I can see your point to a degree, have you ever asked yourself why female tennis players all wear those really short skirts? Or why women's beach volleyball is so popular? Or why women wear those skimpy outfits in figure skating? If the women hockey players could get away with playing in nothing but sports bras and short shorts, they'd do it.
Personally, I think the female body is one of the most aesthetically pleasing designs that nature has to offer. Like sunsets and mountain glaciers. If that makes me a sexist pig or a mindless horndog, so be it. But I for one see nothing wrong with appreciating physical beauty as much as inner beauty.
When you think about it, women objectify their own bodies as much as men do, or there wouldn't be supermodels, strippers, Jessica Simpson or women's beach volleyball.
