Everblades Berg Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week
PRINCETON, N.J. - Florida Everblades right wing Reggie Berg is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 11-17, 2006.
Playing three road games in three nights, the 5-foot-10 and 175-pound Berg had two goals, a team-leading four assists and six points as the Everblades went 3-0-0 for the second week in a row and moved into a first-place tie with Texas atop the ECHL. After scoring a goal in a 6-5 win at Augusta on Dec. 12, Berg scored his league-leading fourth insurance goal in a 3-1 win at South Carolina on Dec. 16 and had three assists in a 5-2 win at Columbia on Dec. 17.
The 30-year-old has a six-game point streak (3g-8a) and is tied for the Everblades lead with 16 assists and is tied for second on the team with 26 points in 22 games. In the last six road games Berg has helped Florida go unbeaten while registering a team-high eight assists and 11 points.
Selected in the seventh round (178th overall) by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Berg has played all seven of his seasons in the ECHL with Florida and has also played in the International Hockey League for Orlando and Cincinnati and in the American Hockey League for Lowell.
On behalf of Reggie Berg, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 15,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

Rudkowsky Named RBK Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, are proud to announce that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has been named the RBK Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Dec. 11-17. The announcement was made earlier today at the ECHL offices in Princeton, N.J.
Rudkowsky, 28, went 2-0-1 in three starts last week with a 1.94 goals against average and a .945% save percentage, and posted his 16th career shutout and 12th lifetime in the ECHL by stopping a season-high 51 shots in a 2-0 win at Texas Friday. This is the fourth time in his eight-year career that Rudkowsky has been selected as the ECHL Goaltender of the Week.
Rudkowsky is 4-3-1 in eight starts for the RoadRunners with a 2.64 goals against average and a .920% save percentage this season following a three-year stint with the Reading Royals of the ECHL. The Willingdon, Alberta native became the 196th ECHL player to advance to the National Hockey League when he debuted as a member of the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 24, 2002 at Edmonton.
Lifetime, Rudkowsky is 127-97-35 in 274 career games. His 12 ECHL shutouts place him third among active ECHL goaltenders behind Las Vegas' Marc Magliarditi (25) and Charlotte's Alex Westlund (16).

*Penalty Killers Are Back! The Bombers are 6-1-0 in the month of December and one of the main reasons has been the play on the penalty kill. Over those seven games, the Bombers have killed off 31/35 penalties (.886%) and are on a current streak of 14 consecutive kills.
*Bounce Back Ability! The Bombers have yet to lose back-to-back games this season and have an impressive record of 6-0-0 following a loss.
*Quick Strike Offense! The Bombers continue to sneak up on their opponents unexpectedly by scoring quick goals and taking over the lead in the game. On Friday vs. Toledo, the Bombers scored two goals in the final 12 seconds of the first period and then came right back with another goal within the first minute of the second period. Then on Saturday they took a 2-1 lead in the first period in Wheeling with two goals in 26 seconds. Later in the third period, the Bombers scored the game winning goal with only 39 seconds left in regulation.
* Bombs Away! The Bombers tied their season high with 40 shots on goal in both wins last weekend over Toledo and Wheeling. They have out shot opponents 577-460 on the season and continue to lead the ECHL in least shots against at 25.56 per contest.

* Moving On Up! The Bombers continue to climb the standings in the North Division. They went from 7th to 5th place over the weekend and are only five points behind the first place Reading Royals. The Bombers have eight games in hand on Reading and lead the season series with the Royals 1-0.
IMPORTANT WEEK AHEAD! Dayton returns to the ice this weekend as they take on the Trenton Titans at the Sovereign Center, in Trenton, New Jersey at 7:30p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Beaumont, TX (December 20, 2006) Texas Wildcatters Vice-President of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Malcolm Cameron has announced that defenseman J.F. David was recalled to the Binghamton Senators of the AHL.
In 19 games with the Wildcatters this season, David has three goals and 20 assists for 23 points. He is third among ECHL defensemen in points. This is the second call up for David this year as he also played in one game for the Manitoba Moose this season, registering one assist.
This is the fifth time a Wildcatters player has been called up to the AHL. Forward Marco Rosa was recalled to the Houston Aeros twice and Kevin Baker was called up to Milwaukee.
The Texas Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate for the AHL's Houston Aeros. The next Wildcatters home game is on Thursday, December 28 vs. South Division rival, the Florida Everblades. N. Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingray and Augusta Lynx meet again tonight at the North Charleston Coliseum. The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. with doors opening for the season ticket holders at 5:30 p.m. and at 6 p.m. for the general public.
This is the sixth meeting between the two teams with the Lynx winning the past three meetings, including the last two at the Coliseum. The Rays are 2-2-0-1 against Augusta this season and have an all-time record of 33-18-9.
The Stingrays are 12-11-0-2 this year for 26 points and fifth place in the division. The Lynx are 12-15-0 on the season for 14 points and sixth place in the division.
Both teams lost their last game with the Stingrays falling to the Florida Everblades 3-1 and the Lynx losing to Charlotte 5-3. Augusta is currently on a four-game losing streak.

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades forward Reggie Berg has been named the In Glas Co. ECHL Player of the Week for the December 11-17, the league announced today.
Berg closed out the week with two goals and four assists and a plus-1 rating as the Everblades finished with a perfect 3-0-0 record to run the team's winning streak to six games and help move the team into a first place tie with Texas in the South Division standings.
The 30-year-old began the week with a goal in Florida's 6-5 win at Augusta on December 15. The native of Anoka, Minnesota the chipped in a goal and an assist in the Everblades' 3-1 win at South Carolina on December 16 before finishing out the week with three assists in Florida's 5-2 win at Columbia on December 17.
Berg is currently riding a six-game point scoring streak (3g, 8a) and is tied for the Everblades lead with 16 assists and is tied for second on the team with 26 points in 22 games. The former 7th round draft pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1996 is in his seventh professional season and has played all seven years with the Everblades, but has also skated with Cincinnati and Orlando of the International Hockey League and with Lowell of the American Hockey League. During his professional career Berg has amassed 307 points (136g, 169a) in 308 games. As an Everblade, Berg has notched 280 points (126g, 154a) in 244 games.
