VICTORIA (CP) - Rookie defenceman Seamus Young scored 4:58 into the overtime period and Julien Ellis made 50 saves as the Victoria Salmon Kings downed the Stockton Thunder 4-3 in ECHL play Thursday night.
Young counted his third goal of the season after converting a rebound on a 3-on-2 rush with seconds remaining before the match would resort to a shootout. Wes Goldie, Ryan Wade and Darryl Lloyd had the other goals for Victoria (6-5-0-1). Milan Gajic and Francois-Pierre Guenette assisted on both the third-period go-ahead goal by Lloyd as well as the overtime winner.
