The Richmond Renegades today announced that their training camp would begin at the Richmond Coliseum on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 10 a.m. The thirty players scheduled to attend will be required to pass exhaustive medical and physical tests prior to training camp.

"We want to be sure everybody is in top physical condition," stated Allan B. Harvie, Jr. team President and General Manager. "These players are about to go through one of the hardest training camps of their lives so we want to be sure that they are physically able to handle it."

Training camp will be open to the public and anyone wishing to attend must enter the Coliseum through the East Leigh Street entrance only. Camp hours are currently scheduled to be from 10 a.m. until noon and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The Renegades will play an exhibition game in Fayetteville on Saturday, October 21st and then return to Richmond to play the same Fayetteville team on Sunday, October 22nd with game time set for 1 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Friday, October 6th and all seats are priced at $7 plus the city service charge of $ .50. Although it is general admission seating, season ticket holders will have until noon, Wednesday, October 11th to reserve their regular season seats for the exhibition game through the Renegades office. On Thursday, October 12th all seats will be available for general admission purchase. Director chairs will not be available for purchase or to season ticket holders for the exhibition game.

Default Roster grows to 19 players

The Columbus Cottonmouths increased the size of their training camp roster to 19 players with the return of defenseman Brock Johnson and addition of four newcomers.

With Johnson's signing there will now be 12 players back from last year's Snakes' team. Johnson joins Mat Ponto as the only two defenseman from a year ago. Gone from the blue line are veteran Ryan Aikia as well as Henrik Arnstrom and Christian Gagnon. Veteran Tom Wilson finished the season as a part-time defenseman replacing Nick Harloff who was called to play in the ECHL.

Though Johnson and Ponto are the only known commodities on defense, general manager Jerome Bechard signed Cory Graboski and Shane Koehler as candidates for the Snakes' defense.
