Default Gorillas partner with Tejas Broadcasting

AMARILLO, TX - This past off season has seen a number of changes within the Amarillo Gorillas organization. First, a new head coach in the form of former NHL bench boss Jim Wiley. Then, a new player/assistant coach in four time 50-point man Chris Lipsett. But one motif remains constant throughout all these changes and that is simply that these are all positive changes and upgrades for an organization entering its 5th anniversary season. And that motif certainly holds true for the most recent change within the organization, the Gorillas new radio affiliate. The Amarillo Gorillas are proud to announce Tejas Broadcasting as their new radio partner for the upcoming 2006-2007 season, with a newly reformatted KTNZ 1010 AM The Canyon as the new flagship station for Gorillas hockey.

"This is an outstanding move for our organization," Gorillas General Manager Darren McLean said. "We took a good hard look at where our past affiliates were going and we decided it was definitely time to move in a new direction. Tejas has just reformatted one of their stations and we're looking forward to moving our extremely dedicated and loyal listenership over to that station while in turn Tejas will help us produce a better product than our fans have heard in a long time."

That newly reformatted station is KTNZ 1010 AM The Canyon, which was reworked into a country format just a few weeks ago and will become the new flagship station for Gorillas hockey. Tejas will broadcast all 64 regular season games as well as all playoff contests after the regular season has concluded. Also, in honor of the Gorillas 5th anniversary, the Amarillo Gorillas and Tejas Broadcasting will be offering fans additional programming with the Amarillo Gorillas Coach's Show scheduled to debut next Monday October 9th at Bennigan's from 6-7 P.M. The "Wiley Report" will air every Monday throughout the entire regular season and fans are encouraged to come out to Bennigans to participate in the show or catch the entire hour on 1010 AM The Canyon.

Season ticket packages and corporate partnerships for the 2006-2007 season are available now! Individual game tickets, once they go on sale, can be purchased at the Gorillas Hockey Office, located at 1934 Civic Circle off of I-40 and Georgia, the Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets. These include Randy's Music Mart, the West Texas Event Center in Canyon and United Supermarkets. Tickets can also be charged by phone at (806) 378-3096 or (806) 242-PUCK (7825).
