Wild Claim Fedoruk Off Waivers

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has claimed left wing Todd Fedoruk off re-entry waivers from the Dallas Stars.

Fedoruk, 28 (2/13/79) was placed on re-entry waivers by the Stars on Wednesday after posting two assists and 33 penalty minutes in 11 games with Dallas this season. The 6-2, 241-pound left wing from Redwater, Alberta, was originally drafted by the Flyers in the seventh round (No. 164 overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Over parts of seven NHL seasons, Fedoruk has appeared in 365 career games and collected 17 goals and 50 assists for 67 points with 818 penalty minutes. In 19 career playoff games, he is scoreless with 38 penalty minutes.

This is a good pick up for the wild as toughness is always need.

Hopefully they don't put Fedoruk and Boogard on the same line because that line will always have someone in the box and no points.

So true...and Boogard will have to work twice as hard to make up for Fedoruk's deteriorating fighting skills.

Unfortunately we need tough guys that don't play on the 4th line - we need tough guys who can play. It's nice to have the Boogey Man and now Fedoruk on the bench in case things get nasty, but I'm sick of seeing this team lose physical battles. While we don't get intimidated, we can be knocked out of our element, and it seems that other teams now realize they just need to play physical, and they'll have an easier time with the Wild. This simply can not continue.
