This is one I have always wondered about. Many in the Canadian media refer to teams from your state as Minny, in refernce to the Wild/Twins/Vikes. I have never seen or heard that nickname for the state or it's teams used by US media. Do people from Minnesota or any where in the US use the name Minny or is it a Canadian thing?
I live about 3 hours away from Minnesota, and I can't say as I've heard anybody around here refer to the state as Minny. It must just be a Canadian thing.
Maybe we should start referring to British Columbia as Britty down here.:haha: k
Generally no, we do not refer to our state as Minny. I also agree that it is a Canadian thing. Sometime watch the movie "Fargo", you'll get the jist of what we're like up here, eh.:haha:
Actually, when I tell someone I'm from Minnesota a common response is "Isn't that in Canada?"
Never heard of that one befor. I will agree that Canadians are a tad bit on the strange side, but anyway I think Montana needs a NHL team. What you all think?

Sounds fine to me, Montana has better sports fans than most people realize. But we have dibs here in Wisconsin before anyone else
