Ya the Jays are finally starting to turn things around after a rash of injuries they have been taking especially in the Pitchers position. Sounds like Burnett might be spending some time with Chacin on the IR but Marcum is really stepping it up for the Jays right now. When they were down 11-6 to the Devil Rays going into the 9th a couple weeks ago they really showed their bat strength as the score 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the game 12-11 it was pretty exciting. Too bad they got the loss today with Towers on the mound though.
I believe that may have been the game where Dustin McGowan was pitching and got lit up for the one inning. That said however D McG made quite a comeback today taking a no-hitter into the 9th inning and only gave up one hit in the 9th unfortunately but still getting a Complete Game SO, so what a confidence boost and a great way to answer his coaches, fans, and naysayers (myself included) after the disaster inning versus the Dodgers. This not only drew the Jays to an even .500 after the many injuries they suffered early in the season and are still hurting from, but this also placed them second in the AL East.
(Oh also random fact it took me to this afternoon to realize that Blue seems to be a common colour in Toronto, The Jays, Argos, Marlies, The Toronto Rock, The Leafs...Yet it is too bad lake Ontario isn't still blue anymore though...)
Ok after a snoozer yesterday where Marcum and Baker both pitched superbly into the 9th each allowing only 1 run, the game went to extra innings where the Twinkies took it in the 12th.
Today the Jays came from behind being down 3-0 to win the game 5-4 and get Towers his first hit since he came back into the rotation. The Jays really need to work out the injuries to Chacin and Burnett and get them back into the rotation to have a pretty respectable Halladay, Burnett, Chacin, McGowan, Marcum line-up.
Ya they really needed that split, these injuries to the pitching rotation are going to kill them if they don't get some of those arms back soon, barring any miracles it's doubtful that the Jays can grab the wild card slot. At the worst though they've gotta finish ahead of the Yankees, at least for some bragging rights finishing second again. Start against the Yankees tonight with Towers on the mound, be interesting to see which Towers shows up. It was good at least that Litsch managed to pull that game off last night that was pretty impressive.

You're right... I bet lake ontario is a murky green by now.
anyway... what's annoying about the BJays is that they're terrible in one game and brilliant the next, so you never know what to sxpect.

No that's just the way the sunlight is reflecting off the oily surface. It's more of dank blacky-brown.
But ya I've thrown the towel in on the Blue Jays this year, I won't get too excited unless they somehow pull out some miracles, but I don't believe in God so it looks like they are pretty much SOL.
