Default Red Wings seek to maintain dominance of Kings

(Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings shoot for their fourth victory in five games tonight, when they welcome the lowly Los Angeles Kings to Joe Louis Arena.

On Tuesday, the Red Wings earned a big shootout win over the rival Nashville Predators in their most recent outing. Johan Franzen's shootout goal boosted Detroit to the 4-3 victory over Nashville, which currently holds a three-point advantage over the Red Wings for first place in the Central Division as well as the top spot in the Western Conference.

Also during Tuesday's test, Mathieu Schneider scored the 200th goal of his career, 25 seconds after Robert Lang tied the game in the second period for the Red Wings.

Pavel Datsyuk also scored in the shootout and added a regulation goal for the Red Wings. Chris Osgood made 24 saves, plus a stop on Martin Erat to end the shootout.

Datsyuk's goal pushed his point streak to five straight games. He has one goal and eight assists during the run.
