He plays in LA, are you really surprised that he doesn't get more attention. Kopitar doesn't play in Canada, and he's not in the Eastern Conference so he'll have to play extremely well to get noticed by the media.

Hmmmm....Los Angeles isnt exactly a hockey town.....maybe if Gary Bettman cleaned up the league and give out hockey teams to hockey markets, maybe his players and the league will get more recognition

Kopitar does not get alot of attention because he plays for the Kings and yes he might be one of their best players but still he plays for the worse team in the west and not exactly a big city to get NHL news out of. But this could be good for the kid because if alot of teams don't hear much about him they will think less of him and be shocked when he plays them and tears up. In other words he is very underrated.

To be fair, Kopitar has 10 fewer points in 8 more games. Malkin is clearly outscoring Kopitar right now.

yes malkin may be out scoring kopitar right now but you also have to look at the team malkin has behind him. The Kings thought that this kid would be playing in the AHL this year until he blew everyone away in the preseason and continued to be one of the best players for the kings this year. Give LA one or two years and they are going to be just like pittsburgh is this year they have so many prospects waiting to come up and they also have Frolov, visnovsky, brown and cammelari becoming very good players
