Default Kings and Coyotes meet in LA

(Sports Network) - The two bottom clubs in the Pacific Division clash today when the Los Angeles Kings welcome the Phoenix Coyotes to Staples Center.

With 12 points the Coyotes are last in the standings, while the Kings are four points ahead in fourth.

Phoenix, however, has some momentum coming in, having won two straight games. On Thursday the Coyotes closed out a five-game homestand with a 3-2 shootout decision over Chicago, as Ladislav Nagy and Yanic Perreault both scored shootout tallies to provide the difference.

Perreault also had a regulation goal while Curtis Joseph made 32 saves and took over the game late for the Coyotes, who defeated Minnesota two nights earlier.

Phoenix finished the homestand at Jobing.com Arena with a 3-2 record.

The Coyotes will finish a brief California road trip on Sunday night in Anaheim.
