The LA Kings traded Pavol Demitra to the Minnesota Wild for Patrick O'Sullivan and the 17 selection in the first round(Trevor Lewis).

Do not quite understand this trade unless it is to free up salary for something bigger. The Kings traded their best scorer for an unproven prospect and a guy who was ranked 77 by central scouting.
Also, the Kings grabbed two goalies in this draft(?). Jonathan Bernier(who will look like a steal in a few years) and Jeff Zatkoff in the third round. If there are any LA Kings fans out there, do you see these deals as positives or negatives for this team moving forward.

I was very surprised to see la trade Demitra, he was their best player. My guess is to free up some space in salary. JR is gone, now Demitra, there is probably close to 8-10mil right there.
