Los Angeles Kings forward Sean Avery is in trouble again, this time for diving.
Avery was notified on Thursday that the league was fining him $1,000 for an alleged dive in a November 3 game against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Avery is appealing the fine through the NHL Players Association.
"I don't have a comment on it right now," Avery told the Los Angeles Times. "If I lose the appeal, I'll have plenty to say then. It's an issue I will not let go."
Avery was not assessed a penalty by game officials for the alleged dive, but a post-game review by league officials resulted in the financial hit.
The fine means this was Avery's second diving offence. Players get a warning from the league for their first offence, and a $1,000 fine for a second breach. A third dive results in a $2,000 fine. After that, it's a one-game suspension.
According to the Times, Avery's first flagged dive was October 19 against Colorado.
