LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Luc Robitaille's climb on the NHL's all-time scoring list has been put on hold.
On Thursday, the Kings placed Robitaille on injured reserve, retroactive to Saturday, with a fractured lower right leg.
The 39-year-old Robitaille, who has four goals and seven points in 11 games this season, did not play in Wednesday's 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars. With 657 career goals, Robitaille is 10th all-time but is expected to miss up to four weeks with the injury.
Since eclipsing the 40-goal plateau in each of his first eight NHL seasons with the Kings beginning in 1986-87, Robitaille has not scored more than 39 in the last 10 seasons with four teams.
Robitaille joins center Derek Armstrong on injured reserve for the Kings, who lead the Pacific Division with a 9-4-0 record. Armstrong, who suffered a groin injury in practice last week, has two goals and seven assists in 10 games this season.
To replace Robitaille on their active roster, the Kings recalled left wing Jeff Giuliano from Manchester of the American Hockey League
